Apalachee High School, in Winder, Georgia, was put on lockdown on Wednesday morning following an active shooter situation.
The high school, which is home to around 1,900 students, is 25 miles west of Athens.
The Burrow County Sheriff’s office has confirmed multiple casualties have been reported and one person has been taken into custody.
The shooting was reported at 10.23am.
