Gujarat Giants vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru WPL 2025 Live Score: Welcome to our live coverage of the third season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), kicking off with the highly anticipated face-off between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara!
RCB, the reigning WPL champions, expect to make a positive start to their title defence. Gujarat, on the other hand, will be keen to secure their maiden title this season, under the leadership of Ashleigh Gardner. They were unable to qualify for the play-offs in the last two editions.
RCB will miss the service of several first-team stars including Sophie Devine and Sophie Molineux. Devine has taken a break from professional cricket. In January, the New Zealand all-rounder revealed that she would skip the WPL to “prioritise her well-being.” Meanwhile, Molineux who was a key member of the RCB unit last season has been ruled out due to a knee injury. Ellyse Perry is dealing with a hip issue while Asha Sobhana also remains doubtful.
Gujarat Giants also have a formidable squad featuring the likes of Beth Mooney, Laura Wolvaardt, Phoebe Litchfield and Harleen Deol. Ashleigh Gardner who was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the last WPL edition will also provide batting depth. The bowling unit will be spearheaded by the Indian duo of Meghna Singh and Shabnam Shakil.
