Google Offers New Lite Cloud Storage Plan For Some Users In India: Here Are The Details

Last Updated:

Google One offers cloud storage up to 30TB for a monthly fee.

Google cloud storage allows you to keep data in Gmail, Drive, Photos and other apps for the allotted storage available with your One plan.

Google Drive cloud storage plans are helpful if you want space for your Gmail, Photos and Docs files among others. But many people find it costly to spend over Rs 100 per month on getting 100GB Drive storage from the company. Guess what, Google now has a special Lite cloud storage plan as a part of the Google One service which is available for half the price and still offers you a decent amount of GBs in cloud storage to keep your important files and data. But how good is the Google One Lite plan and what all benefits do you get apart from the additional cloud storage?

Google One Lite Plan Available In India: Price, Features And More You Get

The new Google One Lite plan is priced at Rs 59 per month which is more than half the Rs 130 per month you have been paying for the 100GB cloud plan on Google One.

The most-affordable Google One Lite plan offers 30GB storage which might not sound like a lot but when you combine it with the free 15GB storage quota available across Gmail, Photos and Docs for all Google users, the total comes to Rs 59 per month for 45GB data on the cloud which is better than Apple’s iCloud prices in India.

Having said that, the Rs 59 per month One Lite plan is not available for everyone, at least for now, but we could independently verify the availability of the plan for our Google account as you can see below:

The Google One Lite plan costs Rs 59 per month and you 30GB storage for that money. But Google One offers other benefits with the higher-priced plans like sharing the cloud storage with up to 5 people at free of cost and further support if you take the basic 100GB plan or higher which is not mentioned in the details for the new One Lite plan.

Cloud storage is still not very popular in markets like India, so bringing its low-cost One plan allows more people to try out the service and see if it fits their need and budget. Once the service is to their liking, expect people to start paying for the higher band of One plans in the country, which feels like the right way to go and Google is happy to bide its time and see the demand grow over the next few years.
