Several rounds of gunshots were allegedly fired into Kamala Harris’ election campaign office in Arizona, the police confirmed on Wednesday. They added that the bullets were fired by unidentified persons at midnight.
Some damages from the gunshots were spotted at the Democratic National Committee campaign office near Southern Avenue and Priest Drive in Tempe, the Tempe Police Department told the New York Post.
“No one was inside the office during the overnight hours, but this raises concerns about the safety of those who work in that building, as well as those nearby,” said Public Information Officer Sgt. Ryan Cook.
The authorities who rushed to the campaign office analysed the evidence at the scene. In additional measures, security was beefed up for the employees at the office and others as well.
The staff workers at the Democratic National Committee campaign office arrived at the place after the incident and suspected that gunshots were likely fired through the front windows.
Donald Trump Assassination Attempt
With few months remaining for the US presidential polls, Republican candidate Donald Trump escaped an assassination attempt at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
A 58-year-old Hawaii resident Ryan Routh was arrested after the Secret Service team noticed him hiding in the compound with arms when Trump was golfing at the venue.
Days before the Florida incident, Trump survived another major assassination attempt at his Pennsylvania rally. The accused, Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire at the rally, wounding Trump and two others. He was killed by a sniper in subsequent action.
