Sanju Samson is the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a century in a T20 international and the first Indian to achieve two consecutive centuries in T20 internationals.
Sanju Samson, the skipper of IPL outfit Rajasthan Royals, has always been deemed as one of the most talented cricketers with exceptional batting as well as wicket-keeping skills. Known for his aggressive batting style, Samson has become a crucial player for both the Indian national team in white ball cricket.
Born on 11 November 1994, Samson made his international debut in 2015 in a T20 match against Zimbabwe. Since then, he has established himself as a reliable performer in the shorter formats of the game. He is the first Indian wicket-keeper to score a century in a T20 international and the first Indian to achieve two consecutive centuries in T20 internationals.

One of Samson’s most impressive performances came in the IPL 2021, where he scored a blazing 119 runs off just 63 balls against the Punjab Kings. His explosive innings almost single-handedly took his team close to victory, but they fell short by a narrow margin.

In the IPL 2019, Samson once again showcased his batting prowess with an unbeaten century against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite his heroic knock, his team couldn’t secure a win.

In the 2017 IPL, Samson scored his maiden IPL century for the Delhi Daredevils. His brilliant innings helped his team to a massive 97-run victory.

In the 2020 IPL, he played a crucial role in Rajasthan Royals’ successful chase of a mammoth target of 223 runs against the Punjab Kings. The Kerala batter scored a quickfire 85 runs off 42 balls to help his team clinch a thrilling victory.

Samson’s unbeaten knock of 92 runs against RCB in a 2018 IPL match powered Rajasthan Royals to a big total of 217 runs. His team eventually won the match by a comfortable margin and Samson was awarded the Player of the Match.

Samson continued his impressive form in international cricket this year. He scored a magnificent century against Bangladesh in a T20I match, helping India post the highest ever total by a Test-playing nation in the format.
