Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar celebrates his 25th birthday today, October 5. Following in legendary bowler Ravichandran Ashwin’s footsteps, the youngster started off his career as a batter. 96 runs not vs England, 2021

Washington Sundar was unstoppable against England three years ago. Competing in Ahmedabad, the Indian all-rounder racked up a 174-ball 96 (not out) against the Englishmen. He smashed 10 boundaries and one six to help the hosts finish with 365 runs. Sundar’s knock played a crucial role, as India went on to win the match by an innings and 25 runs.

3/15 vs Zimbabwe, 2024

Earlier this year, Washington Sundar delivered an impactful bowling spell against Zimbabwe. In the third T20I of India’s tour of Zimbabwe, he put up figures of 3/15. He dismissed Sikandar Raza, Jonathan Campbell and Clive Mandade to help India secure a comfortable victory.

Another one of Washington Sundar’s memorable bowling performances came earlier this year against Sri Lanka.
