Happy Teddy Day 2025: Date
Teddy Day is celebrated on February 10, the fourth day of Valentine’s Week. This year it falls on Monday.
Happy Teddy Day 2025: History
The history of the teddy bear itself, which began in the early 20th century, is entwined with the origin of Teddy Day. The invention of the teddy bear is often linked to a hunting excursion in 1902 during which Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, the president of the United States at the time, refused to shoot a bear that had been trapped and restrained.
Clifford Berryman, a cartoonist, was inspired by this act of compassion to make a cartoon, and Morris Michtom, an inventor and businessman, produced a plush bear-shaped toy that he called a “Teddy bear.”
Teddy Day was later renamed Valentine’s Week because of the toy’s instant appeal as a comfort and security symbol.
Happy Teddy Day 2025: Significance
Teddy bears are more than simply toys. They signify cosiness and warmth in relationships by symbolising the innocence and purity of love.
A teddy bear is a meaningful way to express emotions since it is a way to say, “I care for you,” and “I’m there for you,” to someone on Teddy Day. It is a day when people express their love and care for one another by giving a small but meaningful present that makes them happy and comfortable. This makes it a crucial aspect of Valentine’s Week celebrations since it honours the universal yearning for love and companionship as well as the innocence of children.
