Harshit Rana joined the India Test squad as a cover player for the series opener against England in Leeds.

Pacer Harshit Rana has joined the India Test squad as a cover player and travelled with the team by train to Leeds, where the series opener against England will take place.
Rana, who was part of the India A squad, participated in the first unofficial Test against the England Lions in Canterbury. The tall pacer, who debuted in Australia last year, was not included in the 18-man squad for the five Tests in England.
The 23-year-old from Delhi has played two Tests, five ODIs, and one T20.
“He has been added as cover and arrived in Leeds with the team today,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying by PTI.
Rana was seen leaving Leeds train station with the rest of the squad members. The team travelled to Leeds from London. The first Test begins at Headingley on 20 June.
India played an intra-squad game against India A at Beckenham, their only warm-up match for the series.
Players like KL Rahul, Karun Nair, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur, Dhruv Jurel, and Nitish Reddy arrived in the UK with the A squad and gained valuable match practice.
