Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly open to moving away from the Saudi Pro League in 2025. Ronaldo made headlines in 2022 when he announced his move to Al Nassr following the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. After having competed in Saudi Arabia for two years, Ronaldo could potentially be on his way out once his contract expires next month. A report from MARCA has claimed that Ronaldo is ‘open’ to new challenges and does not want to retire anytime soon. The Portuguese icon can be picked up by another team for free from January 1.
As per the report, sources close to Cristiano Ronaldo have mentioned ‘two certainties’. The first scenario specifies that Ronaldo wants to continue playing as the time to hang up his boots has not come yet. Secondly, the possibility of the Al Nassr star accepting a new challenge cannot be ruled out. They claim that although Ronaldo feels comfortable in Saudi Arabia and has contributed decisively to the development of football in the Middle East, he could still end up leaving the Saudi Pro League.
The same report also mentions that Cristiano Ronaldo ‘does not’ want to leave Saudi Arabia without winning the league. Ronaldo has won the league in every country he has played in, including triumphs in England, Spain and Italy. While the Portuguese forward has secured title wins with his previous clubs, he has failed to replicate the same in the last two years at Al Nassr. If that does not happen soon, Ronaldo might consider embracing a new project that would allow him to continue reaching new heights and making records.
Cristiano Ronaldo recently attended the Globe Soccer Awardswherehe spoke on various topics. When asked about a potential future as a coach, he said,“I’m not a coach. I’m never going to be a coach or president of the club. No. Maybe the owner of the club.” Speaking further he added, “If I will be the owner of the club, I will make the things clear and adjust what I think is bad there. I am still very young, I have so many plans and dreams ahead. Mark my words, I will be the owner of a big club. For sure.”
Cristiano Ronaldo has played 83 matches in the Al Nassr shirt, scoring 74 times and providing 18 assists. The only trophy he won with Al Nassr is the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
