Chelsea winger Jadon Sancho said that it was a real honour to play with Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United. Sancho and Ronaldo played together multiple times at Manchester United across the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. Sancho left Manchester United and signed for Chelsea on loan until the end of this season. Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s second stint at Manchester United came to an end on a bitter note with the Portuguese legend’s contract with the Premier League giants being mutually terminated. Sancho was recently asked to name some of his best teammates and the English international was quick to pick the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

“I’ve played with a lot of great players but, if I had to choose one, it was Cristiano Ronaldo. What he talks about in his interviews is all true, to play with him was a real honour. His mentality, how he trained and how he went into games was really inspirational,” Sancho told Sky Sports, as per Goal.

Sancho had signed for Manchester United on a £73m deal from German outfit Borussia Dortmund in July 2021. But Sancho’s spell at Old Trafford did not turn out to be a memorable one. Sancho made 83 appearances across the three full seasons at Manchester United.

Sancho also had a fallout with former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag. The issue even resulted in his omission from the squad. Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January last year. The 24-year-old made a comeback to Manchester United in the summer. But he failed to secure a place in the squad.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo signed for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr on a deal that is scheduled to run until 2025. Ronaldo left Manchester United by mutual consent following a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan.

In September last year, Ronaldo became the first man to score 900 goals in official fixtures. Ronaldo achieved the milestone in Portugal’s Nations League game against Croatia in Lisbon. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid talisman had also become the first player to breach the 800-goal mark. Ronaldo had set that record in 2021 during his second spell at Manchester United.
