Star Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah opened up on his contract situation at the Merseyside club on Sunday following the side’s 2-0 triumph over Champions Manchester City in the Premier League.

Salah, who has cemented his legacy as a Liverpool legend with his title-winning performances over the years, is yet to receive a contact extension from the club with his current deal set to run out at the end of the season.

Following the win over City at Anfield on Sunday, in which the Egyptian found the back of the net yet again, Salah said that he does have the contract situation in mind.

“Honestly, it’s in my head,” the Liverpool superstar said.

“Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it,” he added.

However, he continued that he has his focus set on winning the league, as Liverpool sit atop the PL table with a 11-point lead over chasing City.

“The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen,” the 32-year-old said.

Salah’s comments on Sunday stand apropos to his comments over his contract situation following Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Southampton, in which he bagged a double, last week.

“We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club,” Salah said. “I’m probably more out than in. You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this,” Salah had stated.

“But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future. I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see,” the left-footer said.

“Of course, yeah. I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see. I’m very professional. Everybody can see my work ethic,” he asserted.

“I’m just trying to enjoy my football and I will play at the top level as long as possible. I’m just doing my best because this is who I am and I try to give it all for myself and for the club. We will see what happens next,” said Salah after his brace a gainst Southampton.
