Footage has captured the horrifying moment a pedestrian is struck by a car and thrown into the air while crossing the road with his phone to his ear.

The 47-year-old can be seen turning 180 degrees when the car drives into him at speed on Friday, but thankfully he only suffered ‘minor injuries’.

The vehicle stopped at the scene in Forest Gate, London, and no arrests were made but the driver is assisting police with an ongoing investigation.

The man looks to his right and behind him before crossing Katherine Road.

But when he reaches the middle of the road, he glances to his left and speeds up as he sees a car hurtling towards him.
