A teenage girl brutally attacked and left for dead in the freezing woods miraculously survived by chewing her way through duct tape and finding help.
The victim, whose identity hasn’t been revealed, was kidnapped on November 2, 2022, after stepping off the school bus in the Alaskan suburb of Wasilla, which is about an hour outside of Anchorage.
Her attacker, David Anderson, 52, was driving a dark blue Chevrolet El Camino when he spotted the teenager. Anderson pulled over, coerced the victim into his car with a revolver, and forced her to smoke meth.
The sick criminal admitted to authorities that he was searching for a victim when he went driving that day, according to the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Alaska.
After kidnapping her, Anderson covered her head with a blanket, punched her, and bound her using duct tape.
He then drove to the woods to rape her before discarding her in the freezing autumn Alaskan weather.
Anderson fired gunshots at the teenage girl but shielded his eyes and left the scene before checking if she had died.
He told investigators that he didn’t look at her while he tried to kill her ‘so that he would not see what he was about to do.’

Anderson’s chilling explanation for his gruesome crime was that he needed to ‘let the monster out,’ according to an arrest affidavit.
After fleeing the scene, he disassembled the revolver and left it in the woods, according to prosecutors.
His victim told investigators that she broke free from the restraints and caught the attention of a passing vehicle.
The driver came to her rescue and called authorities. She reported the incident and described her attacker to police.
She said Anderson was wearing a black leather vest and cowboy hat. Investigators used surveillance camera footage and witness interviews to name Anderson as a suspect.
The criminal was a registered sex offender at the time and had prior convictions including assault, theft, and burglary.
He pleaded guilty to kidnapping, sexual assault in the first degree, and sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree and was sentenced to a total of 85 years in jail in October on state charges.

Last week, he was hit with additional federal charges by the US Attorney’s Office and now faces an additional 50 years, guaranteeing that the rest of his life will be spent behind bars.
‘Today’s federal sentence, combined with the State of Alaska’s sentence of 85 years means that this violent man will never be released back into our community to victimize another Alaskan child,’ State Trooper Colonel Maurice Hughes said in light of the additional charges.
‘While walking home from school, an innocent child was violently kidnapped and assaulted – not only was this a horrific attack on a child, but also on the very fabric of our community,’ FBI Special Agent Rebecca Day added.
Anderson’s attorney Ben Muse previously said that his client was ‘very remorseful’ and struggled with a methamphetamine addiction.
