One out of Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Super Giants or Delhi Capitals will qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs after GT, RCB and PBKS confirmed their place in the top four on Sunday.

Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by 10 wickets in the 60th league match of IPL 2025 played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday, May 18. The record-breaking win in the national capital helped Shubman Gill’s men qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs, and, along with them, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings have also confirmed their place in the top four.
In the coming days, three teams – Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants – will fight for the remaining one playoff spot.
As of now, MI are fourth in the points table with 14 points from 12 matches, DC are fifth with 13 points after 12 games and LSG are 7th in the points table with 10 points to their credit from 11 matches.
Here’s a look at how MI, DC and LSG can qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs:
Mumbai Indians: MI will qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs if Hardik Pandya’s men win their remaining two league matches against DC and PBKS.
If MI lose one and win one, then they have to hope that DC and LSG also lose one of their remaining league matches. In such a scenario, MI will finish with 16 points, DC with 15 points and LSG with 14 points.
If MI lose both their remaining matches, then they won’t qualify, irrespective of how the other two perform.
Upcoming matches – vs DC (May 21), vs PBKS (May 26)
Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals will qualify for playoffs if they win their remaining two league matches. If DC win one and lose one, then they have to hope that MI lose both their remaining matches and LSG also lose one of their remaining three matches. In such a scenario, DC will finish fourth with 15 points, and LSG and MI can’t finish with more than 14 points.
Upcoming matches – vs MI (May 21), vs DC (May 24)
Lucknow Super Giants: LSG will qualify for IPL 2025 playoffs if Rishabh Pant’s men win their remaining three league matches, DC beat MI on May 21 and PBKS beat both DC (on May 24) and MI (on May 26). If that happens, then LSG will finish fourth with 16 points, DC with 15 points and MI with 14 points. If LSG lose even one of their remaining matches, then they will be knocked out.
