Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been in awe of Milos Kerkez this season.
Liverpool are expected to bolster their defence in the winter transfer window. The Reds have been handed a major boost in their search for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez. With reports suggesting that Bournemouth have agreed to a deal to sign left-back Julio Soler from Argentine outfit Lanus, Kerkez’s departure appears imminent.
Liverpool have been one of the clubs interested in signing the 21-year-old. Club legend Jamie Carragher has been in awe of Kerkez this season, saying, “We’ve just spoken about Liverpool’s left-back situation and the fact Andy Robertson needs help. Now listen, he’s been a revelation at Bournemouth.”
“The only reason why I mention Liverpool is that fact that, yes they are probably looking for someone in that position, but also because the sporting director who brought him to Bournemouth is now the sporting director at Liverpool. He’s aggressive, he’s got pace. Even when you look at him he looks like a full-back, small, really aggressive and after-winger on that side. He’s been superb since he came into the Premier League for Bournemouth and it’s one to watch for the future whether he stays or leaves,” Jamie Carragher said on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
Milos Kerkez has been in impressive form at Bournemouth since joining the Premier League side from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar in 2023. But Liverpool is probably not the only club after Kerkez. TBR Football recently claimed that Manchester United have also been interested in signing him.
TBR Football previously suggested that Liverpool and Manchester City representatives were present at Wolves’ home ground, Molineux, to have a closer look at potential left-back targets Rayan Ait Nouri and Kerkez.
On Sunday, Liverpool salvaged a point against Manchester United in a 2-2 draw in the Premier League. The Merseyside-based outfit are currently the table-toppers with 46 points from 19 games.
They have played a match more than second-placed Arsenal. Reigning champions Manchester City are sixth in the Premier League standings with 34 points from 20 matches so far.
