I died and saw inside the pits of hell when I passed over… before the most astonishing thing happened

A woman who nearly died in a car accident revealed how she traveled to hell and detailed the terrifying ordeal that unfolded.

Yoga Premananda, from Florida, nearly met her demise in 2003 while driving from Los Angeles to meet a friend in Las Vegas.

While driving, the now-51-year-old, who attributed her near-fatal car accident to a ‘drug overdose,’ said she experienced a ‘euphoric’ feeling and lost control of her car.

She struggled to breath and a feeling of dread washed over her. Soon after, on the deserted highway between the two cities, her car sped off the road.

That’s when she says she recalls seeing her ‘legs crushed under the steering wheel’ and she ‘gasped for air’ but it was too late and she ‘passed to the other side.’

Once there, she entered a cold and dark room before landing in a ‘terrifying’ pit.

In this space, there was a shadow figure and a strong smell of smoke. Then, when she looked up, there appeared to be a ‘never-ending ceiling.’

Premananda was in the ‘hell realm,’ and though she said she wasn’t scared, she saw ‘a spinning pyre of flames, with souls hanging off it, screaming and reaching for help.’

Premananda was then greeted by a being who she believes was Archangel Raphael – a religious figure known for his healing and protective qualities – and he proceeded to challenge her. She suddenly found herself in the ‘waiting room’ for Heaven.

She said: ‘The whole room’s dimensions were odd; the walls were shadows and they felt cold, yet hot; dry, yet wet. I wasn’t even thinking about my body back on Earth.

‘When Archangel Raphael appeared, he was wearing dark sunglasses, a long dark trench coat and a black hat.

‘Suddenly, I was beamed into a waiting room for Heaven in a split second.

‘I felt very normal and quite comfortable. When I reached the other side, I was relieved – it was like home.’

Premananda said she went into a long white tunnel with other souls that were traveling through the realm.

Her ultimate fate, she added, was in the hands of Archangel Raphael, who decided if you got to dance with God or the Devil.

She said: ‘He was sitting at a desk going through and stamping papers with information of the souls.

While near-death experiences typically last for only a few minutes, they can have a profound impact. Years on, Premananda still thinks about her visions every day

‘There was a bright and light energy around it; the total opposite to what I thought Hell was like.

‘No one used words, but we still communicated.

‘A familiar feeling came over me as some souls went to the end of the tunnel – and I knew I wasn’t supposed to go there.

‘I still had my physical body, whereas other souls were just orbs of light passing through.’

When it was her turn to approach Archangel Raphael, Premananda was surprised to find that he stamped her ticket and reversed the crash.

Premananda said: ‘He got the okay from God to save my life.

‘When I went back into my physical body, my car was miraculously on the road with no scratches or bumps.

‘It was like a scene from a movie. I was filled with purpose and the information I had received rearranged my body.

‘A piece of my brain had been activated – and the process was complete.’

Premananda, scared, turned the car around and drove home.

She continued: ‘I feel as if a higher power got me back safely that day. I hadn’t realized the breadth and depth of what had happened to me.

‘I felt between worlds, like a part of me was still in Heaven’s waiting room.’

A few weeks later, Premananda said she struggled to breathe while driving again as memories from the ‘car crash’ surfaced and she rushed to hospital.

Doctors tried to prescribe her anti-anxiety medication, but she says a ‘voice full of wisdom spoke internally’ and urged her to leave.

Now, she said, this voice guides her every day and she’s been inspired to help others understand their near-death experiences (NDEs) through her work as a holistic healer, receiving several certificates in healing, detox and cleansing as part of her new path.

She said: ‘God chose to save my life and send me back here to have a beautiful journey.

‘People say I seem different; but it’s just the new me.

‘I’ve had to deal with insomnia, anxiety and mental fog due to everything not making sense anymore.

‘I haven’t touched any drug, alcohol, caffeine, medicine or animal-based products since to cleanse my body.

‘But I’ve come to learn that what we do on Earth is backwards. This reality here isn’t our only reality – or our permanent one.

‘Hell taught me a lot; I learned the importance of compassion for others. I’m not fearful about experiencing it again and I’m happy to have been able to escape the boxes we create for ourselves that only hurt us in the long run.’

Premananda continued: ‘People need to wake up so we can get as close as possible to our true nature before it’s too late.’

Estimates of how many people experience near-death experiences vary, but studies suggest that between 10 percent and 20 percent of people who have been close to death report having one.

This could translate to millions of people worldwide, particularly given the increasing survival rates of those experiencing cardiac arrest and other life-threatening events.

While near-death experiences typically last for only a few minutes, they can have a profound impact. Years on, Premananda says she still thinks about her visions every day.

She wrote on her website: ‘I spent years navigating what I later understood to be a profound NDE. That moment was not my ending — it was my initiation. One that catapulted me into a 20+ year journey of spiritual awakening, soul remembrance and radical self-love.’
