Premier League giants Manchester United succumbed to yet another humbling defeat at the hands of strugglers Wolves on Thursday as the Red Devils slipped to 14th in the English top-flight standings.

United boss Ruben Amorim voiced that the head coach of the storied English club can never be at ease amid such testing times and acknowledged the pressure that accompanies helming the most successful side in the history of the league.

“The manager of Manchester United can never, no matter what, be comfortable, and I know the business that I’m in,” said Amorim.

Amorim opined that results are non-negotiable at the top of the English heavyweights and that no manager is beyond reproach if the points tally does not add up to expectations.

“I know that if we don’t win, regardless if they pay the buyout for me or not, I know that every manager is in danger and I like that because that is the job, so I understand the question,” the Portuguese boss added.

Amorim arrived at United to replace former head coach Erik Ten Hag, who was sacked by the club on the back of poor results. The 39-year-old Amorim expressed that he was aware of the challenges that come with taking up the mantle at the club yet to clinch the PL crown since the departure of the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson all the way back in the year 2013.

“There’s no point talking about that or thinking about that,” Amorim said.

“I’m here and have to focus on the job,” he continued.

United, who have lost their last three outings across competitions and languish in the bottom half of the table find themselves in dire straights and need to find a way to turn things around sooner rather than later.

“It’s part of football to have these difficult moments. I already knew that was going to be tough,” the United boss said.

“At this moment it’s really hard. We have to survive to have time and then to improve the team,” the 39-year-old added.
