A guest on A Place In The Sun has revealed their biggest regret since the appearing on the show – and her warning to others thinking of ditching the UK for life aboard.
Jacqui Lockhart, from Scotland, appeared on the Channel 4 show in 2017 to find her dream holiday home in Costa Blanca for £50,000.
The single mum-of-three, who was joined by her daughter Judi on the programme, asked for help from Dani Mendez – and they managed to find one in the town of Almoradi for just £49,000.
Now, eight year on from appearing on A Place In The Sun, Jacqui – who will appear on A Place in The Sun: What Happened Next next week – has moved over permanently and has even found herself a man.
And she wishes that she had done it sooner.
Speaking to The Sun, Jacqui said: ‘Every morning, I wake up, I look out the window across the mountains and I think ‘how lucky am I?’

‘I wish I’d done this 20 years ago.’
And living in the UK was impacting her health, but now because she’s living in the sunshine, she’s seen a massive improvement.
‘Not to be too morbid, but I was in God’s waiting room.
‘I wasn’t doing anything and things were passing me by.
‘I’d say the move has had a huge impact on my health, I’m far more outdoorsy than I was in Scotland.
‘Better weather does make life so much easier – it’s less painful, there are less aches.
‘I go cycling three times a week with my friends, we’ll go out and get a coffee, and we’ll go down to the beach.’
She also wanted to warn viewers about moving abroad before taking the plunge.

They asked for help from Dani Mendez – and they managed to find one in the town of Almoradi for just £49,000
Jacqui told the publication: ‘My other piece of advice would be to rent first to see if you like the area.
‘Thanks to Brexit, Brits can only rent in Spain for three months at a time.
‘But do that and get to know the town you like.’
After viewing all of Dani’s choice of properties, she asked the mother-daughter duo: ‘So girls, how are you feeling?’
Jacqui replied: ‘Excited!’
Dani said: ‘I am so glad you decided to go for this property because when we went in and we saw the roof terrace.
‘I could just see you there.
‘I think it quite suited you.’
Jacqui said: ‘Yes. It’s lovely. I hope I get it.

And she told Dani that she wanted to make an offer of £42,500.
She explained: ‘I would like to replace the kitchen.
‘It’s a bit dated and the roof terrace needs some attention.
‘It’s a bit bare at the moment…
‘So that’s all expenses that I’ll have to and offset that against the purchase.’
They didn’t accept her original offer, but explained that they would accept £46,500 and all the furniture would come with the property.
Jacqui decided to counter offer and said £45,500.
And the pair were over the moon when they accepted it, and she even shed a tear.
A Place In The Sun: What Happened Next sees the experts return to the sunny countries to catch up with those who asked for their help with finding their dream holiday home.
A Place In The Sun airs on Channel 4.
