The Harmanpreet Kaur-led India have rounded off their tour of England by creating more history. On Wednesday, the tourists produced another impressive performance to beat their hosts by 13 runs in the third ODI and secure a series-winning 2-1 lead.
Harmanpreet led the batting effort with a brilliant century, a masterful 102 off 84 that propelled India to a big total o 318/4 in 50 overs at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street. The India captain belted 14 fours during her stay.
Jemimah Rodrigues contributed with a quick fifty, a fine 45-ball 50, while Richa Ghosh provided the fireworks with a blistering 18-ball 38*.
England fought well with their skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt matching her India counterpart in effort but missing out on a century by two runs. She struck 98 off 105 as England were bowled out for 305 in 49.5 overs.
India thus became the second team in history to win back-to-back ODI series against England in England. During their last bilateral ODI series in England (in 2022), India stormed to a 3-0 clean sweep.
India thus joined Australia to have secured consecutive ODI series win over England in England.
