India and England will face each other in a five-match Test series, and the series opener is scheduled to take place at Headingley in Leeds from Friday (June 20). The Shubman Gill-led side would like to come up with a big show against Ben Stokes & Co. in Yorkshire and take an early lead in the high-profile away series of the 2025-27 World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

India last played a Test match at Headingley during the five-match tour of England in 2021 but suffered a humiliating defeat by an innings and 76 runs under Virat Kohli’s leadership.

India’s last win in a Test match played in Leeds was way back in August 2002, when Sourav Ganguly’s men hammered Nasser Hussain’s side by an innings and 46-run margin.
