Actress Sreejita De and Blohm-Pape hosted a Bengali wedding in Goa, a year after tying the knot in a Catholic ceremony in Germany last year. Before the wedding, the couple also celebrated several pre-wedding ceremonies including mehendi, haldi and sangeet.
Sharing glimpses of the wedding ceremonies, the actress dropped photos from her Mehndi on Instagram.
Sreejita looked stunning in a sparkling gold sequin top and a colourful, colour-blocked drape skirt, teamed with a trendy biker-style jacket. On the other hand, Michael was dressed in an ivory Indo-western suit, which he topped off with a stunning, multicoloured designer jacket. While the couple posed together in most of the pictures, a solo picture of the actress showed her hand clad in mehendi.
In the caption, she wrote, “A story that our children will tell their children… Of love, togetherness and beyond this world!! #AlwaysForever…Some from our mehendi ceremony…”
As per a report by Etimes, the couple tied the knot in a traditional Bengali ceremony in Goa on November 10. Speaking about why they chose Goa, the actress told the publication, “We spent almost eight months together in Goa during the lockdown. We realised we didn’t need to go out or do anything elaborate to be happy we were content just being together. Michael loves the Goan vibe, the food, the lifestyle, and we’re both beach people, so a beach wedding felt perfect.”
Sharing about why it was important for them to get married in both Catholic and Bengali customs, Sreejita noted, “We wanted to honour and respect both of our backgrounds. Having already created wonderful memories with our German wedding, we’re now excited to relive those emotions through a Bengali wedding.”
