Instagram DMs Now Get Message Translation And Easy Music Sharing

Last Updated:

Instagram DMs are popular among its users and now they get new features that makes the tool even more purposeful.

These new features have been officially rolled out

Instagram revealed new direct messaging (DM) features earlier this month. It allows users to schedule messages, offers the option to translate messages in many languages in one-on-one chats, and facilitates sharing music with others without ever leaving the chat window. Moreover, users may now pin specific chats on Instagram, which used to only let users pin up to three chat threads at the top of DMs’ inboxes.

In a blog post, Instagram explained the new features making their way to direct messages. It adds a message translation feature that, as the name implies, enables users to translate texts sent by others in their preferred language right within direct messages. The feature supports 99 languages at launch. The company states that Meta will be notified of communications chosen for translation.

Furthermore, the scheduling of messages is another new feature. Like what was recently added to the iPhone with the iOS 18 update, Instagram users may now schedule messages. They are also able to set up reminders. All you have to do is hold down the send button, choose the time and day for scheduling, and then press ‘Send’.

According to the instant messaging app, its most recent upgrade makes it simpler to find and save significant chats. Users can now pin individual messages in addition to the three chat threads they were previously able to pin. They must hold down on the message and choose the Pin option to use this feature.

In addition, you can now send your friends a 30-second preview of the newest music while you’re chatting with them in direct messages without ever leaving the chat window. This update applies to group chats as well as one-on-one conversations. You can search for any song in the audio library by opening the sticker tray in the chat and tapping on the “Music” option. To transmit a 30-second preview of the chosen tune, touch on it next.

Last but not least, group conversations can now share customised QR codes. Users can generate a QR code for a particular group chat and share it with others, allowing them to scan it and join the conversation.

Instagram claims that this makes it unnecessary to add each person individually to group discussions.
