Internet divided as company launches breast milk flavored ice cream

Frida, acompany known for its innovative and often provocative products for mothers and babies, has announced a surprising new venture: breast milk-flavored ice cream.

The company has announced a unique flavor experience – breast milk-flavored ice cream – that is ‘due in nine months.’

This unexpected product launch serves as a celebratory and attention-grabbing way to introduce their new 2-in-1 Manual Breast Pump.

The Instagram announcement elicited a wide spectrum of responses.

‘I kind of can’t hate this. Breastmilk for everyone! It’s going to be a great summer!’ one user commented, while another expressed stark disbelief: ‘I feel like this was supposed to be announced on April fools day.’

But Frida confirmed with PEOPLE that this culinary endeavor is anything but a joke.

This isn’t the first foray into breast milk ice cream. In 2011, a London ice cream shop introduced ‘Baby Gaga,’ made with donated breast milk.

However, sales were halted due to safety concerns, as reported by the BBC.

Frida’s description of their upcoming product promises ‘a pitch-perfect representation of the sweet, creamy, nutrient-packed goodness we’ve all wanted to try but have been afraid to ask.’

The company also detailed that their product will contain ‘the same nutrients’ as breast milk, including ‘fats (Omega-3 brain fuel!), carbs (energy-boosting lactose), important vitamins (iron, calcium, Vitamin B and D and zinc), plus lots of H2O for hydration.’

However, key questions remain unanswered. Will the ice cream actually contain breast milk, and if so, whose?

Frida has kept specifics under wraps, inviting interested consumers to sign up on their website for updates.

The mother-baby company is no stranger to generating buzz through unconventional marketing.

The company’s history includes campaigns that push boundaries, such as their 2020 postpartum care product ad, which was deemed ‘too graphic’ for the Academy Awards.

Whether the breast milk-flavored ice cream will become a mainstream hit or a fleeting novelty remains to be seen.
