iOS 18.5 update will be Apple’s last version before the biggest iOS 19 update is unveiled at the WWDC 2025 keynote in June this year.
iOS 18.5 beta also means we are coming to the end of the iOS 18 cycle.
iOS 18.4 update has rolled out a bit earlier than we expected and Apple is now clearing the decks for the big iOS 19 version that will be part of the WWDC 2025 keynote in June. However, the company also has one more iOS 18 version that most likely fixes all the issues and stability concerns that iPhone users tend to have with a new public release.
So, while we wait for the biggest iOS update in years, the iOS 18.5 beta is getting closer to the new version and giving us some more features. The new iOS 18 update should be out by early May giving people and developers enough time to work out the issue before the public version is ready.
iOS 18.5 Beta Update: More New Features?
The iOS 18.5 beta update seems pretty straight forward with Apple mostly focused on making the iOS 18 version stable and getting rid of any major issues faced by iPhone users. Most of the improvements are on the performance side, and if you were hoping for more AI goodies from Apple, you will have to wait for the iOS 19 update later this year.
Having said that, it is not like the company has left it available without new features. You can customise the look of the Apple Mail app by letting you hide the profile photos of the contacts within the Settings. In addition to this, you will see the AppleCare and Warranty section looking slightly different with a cleaner banner.
Going by the iOS 18.5 beta log, it is clear that Apple is setting the big stage for the WWDC 2025 keynote to showcase iOS 19 and hopefully wow the audience with some nifty and useful AI upgrades.
