Apple has introduced the visual AI feature for all the iPhone 16 models so far and soon the 15 Pro models will get it as well.
The premium visual AI feature is yet to be available on the 15 Pro models.
A recent leak suggests that visual intelligence may soon be available on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Apple added the visual intelligence or VI to help iPhone users search for visual elements using their phone’s camera. The company has so far offered the VI feature on the latest iPhone 16 and 16 Pro models and soon it will be available if you own either of the iPhone 15 Pro models.
According to an insider, Apple decided to bring AI features to the iPhone 15 Pro models after successfully integrating them into the newly launched iPhone 16e, which does not have the camera control button.
John Gruber, co-creator of the Markdown markup language, mentioned in a blog post that visual intelligence features could arrive on iPhone 15 Pro models as early as April. Reports suggest that users may be able to link the feature to the Action Button, with the update expected to roll out with iOS 18.4.
Users of the iPhone 16 series can rely on viewfinder of the camera to look up information about a business, translate text, summarise material, read written text aloud, recognise flora and animals, and more thanks to visual intelligence.
This is possible by long pressing the Camera Control button. The feature was only available on the most recent iPhone model up until now, and the Camera Control button was the only method to access it. It is similar to Google’s Lens feature that now works across the app and the web.
But with the release of the iPhone 16e, Apple also added visual intelligence to the Control Centre and made it possible to bind the feature using the Action Button. It now seems that the iPhone 15 Pro models will have the same feature.
It is interesting to note that Apple has also included visual intelligence with ChatGPT, which allows users to ask questions about objects nearby.
