iPhone 17 launch in September is more or less confirmed even without Apple sharing its own official timeline. And now, we have more clarity on the actual iPhone 17 series launch event and when it might happen in September. Reports suggest, Apple could bring the new iPhone 17 models in early September, which is less than a few months from now and the countdown has surely started.
Samsung has launched its new foldables this week, and Google Pixel 10 series is likely to be announced next month. But the big fish Apple iPhone 17 series launch is probably the most awaited event once again. We’ve come across a wide array of leaks around the iPhone 17 series, including the rumoured Air model, which is a clear sign of Apple already having the products in place for the big launch.
iPhone 17 Launch Date: When It Might Happen?
The new details shared by Mark Gurman in a Bloomberg report suggests the iPhone 17 launch event could happen on September 8 or 9 which is Monday and Tuesday, respectively. We have seen Apple go with a Tuesday or Wednesday as the launch day for iPhones over the years and Gurman thinks the company could follow the same pattern or it can even change that and have the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models unveiled on a Monday this year.
He also points out Apple could skip September 11 as a launch date with respect to the events that occurred on the date many years back in the US.
iPhone 17 Series Launch In September: Price, Specs And More
iPhone 17 Pro series is expected to get a wide range of upgrades this year and now reports have come out which talks about the iPhone 17 Pro Max battery size which could be Apple’s biggest ever. The latest iPhone 17 Pro model launching this year will carry a 5,000mAh battery, as highlighted in a Weibo post by tipster Instant Digital.
The iPhone 17 model is expected to get the dynamic island along with a 120Hz display but without the ProMotion adaptive refresh rate tech.
Apple will be offering the new Pro-level chipset for the iPhone 17 Pro series. Last year we got the A18 Pro version and now it is time to see the A19 Pro SoC powering the new Pro lineup for the company in 2025. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models could come with 12GB RAM as the standard this year which should aid its levels and AI support further.
Apple is rumoured to bring a new 48MP telephoto lens which should be a notable upgrade on the 12MP lens that the iPhone 16 Pro models got last year. This means Apple could bring a full set of 48MP sensors for its triple camera system with this year’s iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models. The regular iPhone 17 should come with dual 48MP sensors this year.
With all these upgrades and the tariff risk hanging over Apple’s head, the iPhone 17 series launch price could be higher than last year. The iPhone 17 Pro price, going by the rumours, could start around Rs 1,39,900 which will be a significant bump on the iPhone 16 Pro launch price of Rs 1,19,900 last year. The iPhone 17 Pro Max price could go as high as Rs 1,64,900 when it launches this year, and that will be a Rs 20,000 price increase from its predecessor.
