Punjab skipper Shreyas Iyer confirmed that the Australian had fractured his finger and will be out of the encounter in Chennai.

Punjab Kings all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will miss out on the side’s clash against Chennai Super Kings on Wednesday due to a fractured finger.
PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first in Chennai, while also confirming that the Australian will miss the bout against the Super Kings and might be out of the season.

Chennai have had to endure a torrid season that has seen them lose seven games and head into the Punjab clash placed at the very bottom of the table, and would look to salvage some pride in front of the passionate fan base. PBKS, placed fifth in the table and very much in the mix for a place in the playoffs, will look to add to their five wins in nine outings this season and break into the coveted top-four spot.
Shaik Rasheed and Ayush Mhatre put up a 21-run stand for the first wicket before the former fell to Arshdeep Singh for 11 runs. Mhatre fell shortly after to Marco Jansen for 7 runs. Ravindra Jadeja fell prey to Harpreet Brar after chipping in with 17 runs in the penultimate delivery of the powerplay.
