IPL 2025 Points Table:
The Delhi Capitals, led by Axar Patel, started their campaign in IPL 2025 on a winning note. Thanks to a sizzling fifty by Ashutosh Sharma, the side came out on top by one wicket in their opening game against Lucknow Super Giants at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Monday.
DC, despite losing as many as five wickets before the first 10 overs in their chase of 210, fought back thanks to some fine contributions by Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs and Vipraj Nigam followed by Ashutosh’s knock to get them over the line.
With their win, DC now join the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru to have won their opening game in the ongoing season and jump to fourth on the points table. LSG on the other hand would not be too demotivated by the loss considering their depleted bowling unit who put in a valiant display to take the game deep. They are also not too far off considering their net run rate has only taken a slight hit in comparison to Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals.
Rishabh Pant had a forgetful game on his LSG debut after he was dismissed for a duck and missed a crucial stumping in the final over which could have turned the tides. He will look to come back with a stronger performance to repay the faith shown by the franchise who splashed a whopping Rs 27 crore at the mega auction.

Tomorrow the remaining two teams that have yet to begin their campaign, the Gujarat Titans led by Shubman Gill take on Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match is set to begin at 7:30 PM (IST).
DC will be back in action for another home game at Vizag where they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad. LSG will also be on the road once again where they take on SRH as well in their next game.
