The makers of the most anticipated second season of Rohit Jugra’s web series, Chamak, have finally confirmed the release date. The show will arrive on the OTT platform in the first week of April. Chamak-The Conclusion, starring Paramvir Cheema and Isha Talwar, will stream online on Sony LIV starting April 4. The much-anticipated sequel, packed with music, mystery, and power-packed drama is the final part of the popular musical thriller, Chamak.
The team of the film recently shared the trailer of Chamak on social media, “One artist killed on stage, another returns for revenge! Watch the musical thriller, Chamak – The Conclusion, streaming from April 4th, only on Sony LIV.”
Plot
The renewed season, set against the backdrop of Punjab’s high-stakes music industry, will see Kaala (Paramvir Singh Cheema) on a mission to avenge the murder of his father, the legendary singer Taara Singh. Discovering truths about the incident, he is now ready to take on the industry giants but the drama intensifies as dangerous things wait for him.
The 28-song soundtrack in soothing voices of Gippy Grewal, MC Square, Asees Kaur, Mika Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Afsana Khan and more serves up a playlist you won’t forget.
Cast And Crew
Directed by Rohit Jugra, the show stars Paramvir Singh Cheema as Kaala. Joining him for a powerful cast are Manoj Pahwa, Mohit Malik, Isha Talwar, Mukesh Chhabra, Prince Kanwaljit Singh, Suvinder Pal and Akasa Singh. Gippy Grewal also makes a special appearance as Kaala’s late father in the show. Notably, the first season of the musical thriller first premiered in December 2023. It is produced by Geetanjali Mehelwa Chauhan, Rohit Jugraj and Sumeet Dubey.
Why Was It Delayed
Initially scheduled for August 16, 2024 release, the show got delayed owing to production challenges, extensive post-production work, and industry obstacles. As per the sources, SonyLIV’s strategy to position the show’s release during a peak streaming window to ensure maximum viewership also added to the reasons behind the delay. Other reasons that caused the delay in the show’s release include internal restructuring within the platform which eventually resulted in the postponement of the show’s release.
