The Israeli army launched its long-awaited ground invasion of Lebanon overnight, as fears grow over an all-out war in the Middle East.
With the world holding its breath, armoured vehicles piled across the border into southern Lebanon as rockets continued to rain down.
Tension in the Middle East, already heightened by the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, have escalated further in recent days after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed in Israeli strikes on Beirut on Friday.
