US Vice President JD Vance come to the defense of Donald Trump following a controversial and now-deleted tweet by billionaire Elon Musk. Elon Musk had claimed that Donald Trump’s name appears in the sealed Jeffrey Epstein files, suggesting this was why the documents had not been made public.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk wrote, “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” The post quickly went viral but was later removed by Musk without explanation.
Responding to Elon Musk’s allegation, JD Vance firmly rejected the claim, stating, “Absolutely not, Donald Trump didn’t do anything with Epstein.” He also expressed hope for reconciliation, saying, “I hope eventually Elon comes back into the fold.”
Elon Musk-Donald Trump Spat
The exchange between Elon Musk and Donald Trump unfolded amid ongoing tensions between the billionaire CEO and the President. Elon Musk, who recently stepped down from his government advisory role to focus on his businesses, has increasingly criticized Donald Trump, including over the US president’s proposed “Big Beautiful Bill”.
Elon Musk also claimed, “Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.”
In reply to Elon Musk’s criticism, Donald Trump took to Truth Social, writing, “I don’t mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago.”
No Truce Between Elon Musk And Donald Trump?
According to a POLITICO report, White House aides are working to moderate the president’s public criticism of Elon Musk.
When asked about the ongoing spat with Musk during a phone call with POLITICO, Trump responded confidently, “Oh, it’s okay. It’s going very well, never done better.”
