Jenna Bush Hager reveals gruesome finger injury: ‘If you’re queasy, don’t look’

Jenna Bush Hager showcased her horrifying dislocated finger injury after hurting herself over the weekend.

The TODAY with Jenna & Friends host, 43, was her usual upbeat self for Monday’s episode but was quick to point out why fans might have noticed a slight difference in her look.

While joined by twin sister Barbara Bush as a guest co-host, Jenna stated: ‘Y’all may notice that I’m wearing a splint.’

She then held up her right hand to give viewers a clear glimpse of the metal splint on her middle finger.

After joking that she might get her sister to sign it during the commercial break, the TV host revealed: ‘I unfortunately dislocated my middle finger.’

The mother-of-three then asked producers to ‘put a warning on’ for viewers as she continued: ‘We’re going to show the picture… if you’re queasy, don’t look at your television for the photo.’

Indeed, the stomach-churning injury saw the star’s finger dislocated into an unnatural zig-zag formation.

Jenna then highlighted that this wasn’t the first time she had suffered a finger injury as she continued: ‘Now, some people may think, “Wow, that’s the first time anything has ever happened to your finger.”‘

‘But they would be wrong,’ her sister playfully teased.

Turns out Jenna has broken several of her fingers in the past, and the doctor who did her X-ray pointed out as much and noted ‘a lot of hairline fractures’ in her finger. 

Last February saw the star spark rumors that her marriage to Henry Chase Hager was on the rocks because she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring – though she later explained that she had actually broken her ring finger. 

Jenna will be joined by other family members as guest hosts for the rest of the week as the search for Hoda Kotb’s replacement continues.

The hunt is still ongoing as the Today show has yet to make a decision on who will fill her seat, an insider recently revealed to DailyMail.com.

Since Hoda’s departure in January, Jenna has been trialing a range of cohosts on the show, which has aptly been renamed Jenna & Friends.

So far, actress Scarlett Johansson has been the standout presenter and went down so well with viewers that she has been invited back to co-host in March.

But despite Jenna & Friends launching seven weeks ago, the Today show is no closer to landing on a permanent fixture.

And it appears bosses are not in a rush to land on a new presenter to replace Kotb.

An insider close to the show told DailyMail.com: ‘There has been no permanent cohost decision for today with Jenna & Friends.’

They continued: ‘There is no reason to make a decision now. There’s been a lot of people vying for the opportunity to guest co-host.’
