Jennifer Lopez’s child Emme suits up and flashes new piercings on Othello opening night red carpet

Jennifer Lopez turned the red carpet at opening night of Broadway’s new production of Othello into a family affair when she brought her child Emme as her date.

The 55-year-old actress — who is ‘ready to date again’ — set heads turning in a sizzling two-piece ensemble that bared her ripped abs as she arrived at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.

While she favored a glamorous sparkling look covered in rhinestones, beads and gold sequins, Emme, 17, rocked a cool black pinstriped suit and revealed some seemingly new piercings.

The family duo led a bevy of stars — including former President Joe Biden and his wife Jill — at the opening night performance of Shakespeare’s Othello.

The new production, which is directed by Kenny Leon, features a pair of A-list leads in Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Washington is returning to Shakespeare after starring in Joel Coen’s acclaimed film The Tragedy Of Macbeth (2021) to play the title character, while Gyllenhaal appears as the devious Iago.

Jennifer’s ensemble included a high-necked top with long sleeves and masses of stones and sequins running down from her neck and along her sleeves.

The cheeky look also featured the sparklers suggestively highlighting her bust and navel. 

The Out Of Sight star also arrived in a furry cropped black coat, and she carried a slim black clutch.

She turned around on the red carpet to reveal that her outfit featured an expanded cutout over her back.

Jennifer completed her ensemble by tying her hair back tightly in an intricate bun, which put her impeccably made-up face and her Estate diamond loop earrings on display.

She added some extra sparkle to her look with an enormous Briony Raymond 1960s-era Bombé diamond ring, as well as an Estate Diamond cocktail ring on a tiered, octagonal ban.

Emme — whom Jennifer has referred to using they/them pronouns — looked stylish in a black pinstriped suit with peaked lapels.

They wore it with a light-gray shirt and a black-and-white plaid tie, along with chunky black leather shoes and a silver necklace with a large single pearl dangling from it.

They styled their dark hair in a shaggy mop and wore tasteful dark tortoiseshell horn-rimmed glasses, and they decorated their lapel buttonhole with a tiny hanging gold watch.

Emme — whose twin brother Max didn’t appear to join them — sported black gauges, along with a small silver ring in their right ear and what looked like a heart surrounded with a silver ring. They also wore what appeared to be an earring with a large silver ringed planet on their left ear, which matched a smaller necklace holding their tie in place.

The premiere featured a high-profile entrance from former President Joe Biden, who flashed a salute as she headed toward the theater.

He wore a traditional tuxedo with peaked lapels and a black bow tie for the black-tie event, while Dr. Jill Biden was dressed in a shimmering powder blue dress at his side. 

Other stars on the red carpet included Katie Holmes, who traded out her usual casual-cool ensembles for an off-the-shoulder black dress.

Angela Bassett looked effortlessly stylish in a scarlet satin suit with a sheer black blouse and a bustier top underneath. She added a cool set of studded heels to spice up her red-hot look. 

Oscar winner Ariana DeBose also favored red. She sizzled in a long dress with jeweled spaghetti straps and pointy-toed black pumps.

Jamie Lee Curtis beamed on the red carpet in a black double-breasted single-button suit with a midnight-blue satin blouse. 

Samuel L. Jackson looked refined with a snowy goatee and a dark tuxedo with a velvet shawl lapel. 

Nicole Scherzinger also added a splash of color with a golden-brown suit dress.

It featured a jacket with peaked lapels over a matching pleated skirt with a high slit, and she wore complementary suede pumps.

Oscar nominee Colman Domingo continued to be a reliable source of red-carpet style, even if he ignored the black-tie dress code. 

He rocked well-fitted beige double-breasted suit with peaked lapels, along with an umber-colored tie and cream-colored cowboy boots. 

The Euphoria star also accessorized with chunky black-framed tinted glasses.

He was joined on the red carpet by fashion maven Anna Wintour. She rocked an emerald-green satin dress decorated with avian designs, along with a candy-colored necklace featuring enormous multicolored gemstones.

She wore open-toed heels and covered up in a thick furry beige coat that complemented Colman’s suit.

The legendary filmmaker Spike Lee, who’s also known for his fashion choices, was dressed like a school boy in a burgundy blazer with with white stripes, along with a matching tie and baseball cap, cream-colored pants, white-and-navy trainers and brilliant white glasses.

His wife Tonya Lewis stunned in a scarlet dress that was ruched around her midriff and featured a cutout on one side. She accessorized with a pink leather clutch. 

Rosie Perez was gorgeous in a midnight-blue dress with a sparkling bodice and a shimmering satin skirt. 

And Just Like That and Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon looked effortlessly cool in a black wool–leather hybrid jacket with a long skirt. 

Martha Stewart favored a black jacket with a black-and-white patterned outfit underneath. She also wore enormous white pearls. 

Liev Schreiber made the odd choice of wearing a midnight-blue suit with a black shirt, which he wore without a tie. 

He was joined by his wife Taylor Neisen, who rocked a tasteful black sweater with a long black skirt and pointy-toed slingback heels.

Broadway veteran Christine Baranski looked refined in an all-black ensemble with gold chandelier earrings. 

Gayle King added some flash to the black-tie premiere in a black suit with sequined pinstripes. She carried a slim silver handbag and wore a matching black top.

Kandi Burruss stood out in an enormous dress with an odd skirt with what looked like lumps of white tulle wrapped in sheer black material. 

Tony Shalhoub looked classy in a black tux with a shawl lapel, though he opted for a long neck tie instead of a traditional bow tie.

He was joined by his wife, Days Of Heaven star Brooke Adams, who complemented him in a stylish black suit with a sheer black blouse.

Tamron Hall arrived in a semi-sheer ruched mauve dress with pointy open-toed heels and a black coat draped over her shoulders that was decorated with floral images.

Key and Peele star Keegan-Michael Key looked low key in a black tux with peaked lapels, though he dressed it down with a black shirt and went without a tie.

Former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre wore a black crushed velvet dress with a skirt featuring red, orange, blue and purple designs. 

Inside the theater, Joe Biden was spotted getting to meet Othello’s star, Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal.

Photos of the three featured the former president beaming while flanked on either side by the A-list stars, who also grinned for the camera.

The two appeared to have already gotten into costume, and the photo revealed that the new Othello production is set in modern times.

Denzel was dressed in what appeared to be a Marine brigadier general’s uniform, with its single star on the lapels, while Jake was dressed in an olive-green shirt and tan digital camouflage pants, indicating that his Iago has a lower rank in the new production. 

In a video posted to her Instagram Stories before the red-carpet event, Jennifer Lopez gave her fans a quick update on the drive over.

‘I have the most amazing date for the black-tie premiere of Othello,’ she gushed, before panning over to reveal that it was Emme.

Her child smiled and gave a nervous wave to the camera before she turned it back to her face.
