Joe Biden signs with Hollywood talent agency that also reps Barack and Michelle Obama

Former President Joe Biden signed with Hollywood talent agency Creative Artists Agency in one of his first post-presidential moves. 

CAA represented Biden after he left the vice presidency and ahead of the 2020 election. 

The firm also represents former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama. 

‘President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,’ said CAA co-chairman Richard Lovett in a statement to Variety. ‘His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.’ 

When Biden was a CAA client between 2017 and 2020, the agency shepherded the release of his No. 1 New York Times bestsller, Promise Me, Dad, which revolved around the 2015 death of Beau Biden. 

Biden went on a 42-date ‘American Promise’ tour, as part of the book’s launch, which sold more than 85,000 tickets and helped jumpstart his successful 2020 White House campaign. 

It’s unclear what Biden has in store in his post-presidential era but it wouldn’t be surprising him to release a memoir. 

He’ll also start the process of building a presidential library.

The former president and first lady flew off the California after watching Trump’s January 20th swearing-in. 

Biden had suggested to reporters that son Hunter’s house was destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires. 

The former first son lives in the LA area with his second wife Melissa Cohen and their son Beau. 

Hunter’s oldest daughter Naomi Biden gave birth to the Bidens’ first great grandchild, a boy, amid the LA wildfires. 

Naomi and her husband Peter Neal relocated to Los Angeles from D.C. 

Unlike former Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff, who attended the FIREAID Benefit Concert in Los Angeles last week, the Bidens haven’t been seen publicly. 

The former president posted on social media a picture of himself with new DNC Chair Ken Martin on Monday. 

‘Great meeting today with the new Chair of the DNC, @KenMartin73, who is ready for the fight ahead,’ Biden posted on X. 

Democrats elected new party leadership at the DNC Winter Meeting on Saturday. 

Not everyone in the party wants Biden to continue to play a role. 

Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville said on his podcast last month that many members of the Democratic Party wanted Biden to go away. 

‘What he’s done to himself is, no one wants to hear from this guy anymore. OK? Just go to your condo in Rehoboth and stay there,’ Carville said. 

Carville was among the Democrats who thought Biden should have bowed out of the race long before July, forcing Harris to run a campaign in less than four months. 

‘Just look, guy, you had a noble career, your last act was terrible, just get out of the way, the party’s moving on, I mean they’re really moving on,’ he said. ‘It’s very sad but it’s just where we are but he created this himself.’
