Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen hurt his elbow in his team’s win over New England Patriots on Sunday night.
The MVP contender seemed unconcerned by the issue when speaking to CBS after the game but his team cannot afford for him to get badly hurt with the playoffs on the horizon.
‘Oh you’re talking about – I fell down, got a helmet to the funny bone,’ Allen said of the incident that occurred in the fourth quarter.
‘I went to throw the next one, and I had no feeling in the hand. So I came out a little wobbly. Hell, it happens sometimes. We move on.’
It emerged earlier on Sunday that Allen broke his left hand during a touchdown run in the opening Bills game of the season against Arizona Cardinals.
Josh Allen played through the pain barrier once again as the Bills beat the Patriots on Sunday

The signal caller was previously on the Bills’ injury list for a hand injury during Week 12, but the extent of his pain was not previously known.Â
The only noticeable difference is the amount of snaps Allen is taking under center, compared to in a shotgun or pistol formation.
Sunday’s narrow 24-21 win over the Patriots keeps narrow hopes alive for the Bills of overtaking Kansas City Chiefs and seizing the AFC No. 1 seed for the playoffs.
‘It was pretty challenging,’ Allen said. ‘Any time you play a divisional opponent, you know they are going to have a good plan for you.Â
The ugly ones count the same as the pretty ones so glad that we can get out of here and get a W. We ran the ball well but we’ve got to be better in the pass game.’
Allen has a week to overcome any issues from the helmet hit – the Bills are back in action next Sunday against the 4-11 New York Jets.
The Patriots win leaves the Bills 12-3 for the season, meaning they need to win their last two regular season games from here and hope the Chiefs, 14-1 lose to Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos.
If that were to happen, both teams would hold 14-3 record but the Bills would take the No. 1 seed as they beat the Chiefs earlier this season.Â
