Speaking at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, the Adani Group Chairman announced his group’s commitment to invest Rs 50,000 crore in the state
The Adani Group chairman, who had also attended the Madhya Pradesh Investors’ Summit in Bhopal on Monday, said as he heard the prime minister again, he was taken back to 2003 when “it all began with a resurgent Gujarat”.
Gautam Adani, Chairman and Founder of the Adani Group, heaped praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at the Advantage Assam 2.0 summit, hailing their leadership in transforming the state.
“It is an honour to stand before you at Advantage Assam 2.0. Every time I step foot in this sacred land of Maa Kamakhya, I am captivated by its natural and limitless beauty. Just as the mighty river Brahmaputra shaped the landscape of this state to carve its own path, I must say it is our honourable prime minister who has reshaped the landscape of possibilities for Assam,” Adani said.
He added: “Honourable PM, like a master weaver, you have blended the seven sisters into the fabric of the country. Your ‘Act East’ policy and programmes to enhance connectivity and infrastructure are not just initiatives but monuments of hope for the entire region. You have not only integrated Assam and the seven sisters into India’s growth story, but laid the path to make them catalysts for our nation’s future as well as boost trade and investment with the South-east Asian nations.”

Adani also praised chief minister Sarma, saying he knew no recent “first-time chief minister who has ignited such hope. Your fight against social evils like drug abuse and child marriage is not just a campaign but a mission”.
The businessman also announced his group’s commitment to invest Rs 50,000 crore in Assam across airports, aero cities, gas distribution systems, and road projects.
Advantage Assam Summit 2.0 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday in Guwahati. The event also witnessed the presence of national and international leaders, ambassadors, industry stalwarts, and other dignitaries, marking a significant milestone in shaping Assam’s investment and infrastructure landscape.
