Tech billionaire Elon Musk, who recently had a fallout with US President Donald Trump, mocked him and asked him to release the files related to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as promised.

Musk’s remarks came after Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, asking his supporters not to attack his administration over the Epstein files. Trump also alleged that former presidents Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and Democratic leader Hillary Clinton “created” the Epstein files.

“Seriously. He said “Epstein” half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised,” Musk said on X in reply to Trump’s post.

Notably, Musk was once a staunch ally of Trump and briefly led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). However, their friendship turned sour after Musk publicly disagreed with Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” on tax cuts and public spending, while Trump threatened to axe Musk’s federal contracts.

The feud escalated after Musk said the Trump administration had not released the Epstein files because the President’s name was mentioned in them. He later deleted his post, saying that he went “too far” with his comments.

What Did Trump Say On Epstein Files?

Trump on Saturday defended Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying she was doing a “fantastic” job” and blamed former presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden for creating the Epstein files, while urging the MAGA base to end their obsession with the files.

“LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!” he said. “One year ago, our Country was DEAD, now it’s the “HOTTEST” Country anywhere in the World. Let’s keep it that way, and not waste Time and Energy on Jeffrey Epstein, somebody that nobody cares about.”

The Trump administration is facing heavy backlash, even from the president’s supporters, over the delay in releasing the Epstein files, which he had promised to do so in his election campaign. Many among the MAGA supporters have long contended that so-called “Deep State” actors were hiding information on Epstein’s elite associates.

The controversy broke out after the Justice Department and the FBI issued a joint memo recently, which concluded after an “exhaustive review” that Epstein claimed his own life and that there was no “client list” or evidence to prosecute uncharged third parties. This declaration was opposite to previous public statements from Attorney General Pam Bondi, who earlier said that a “client list” was “sitting on her desk” and would be examined for potential release.

Far-right influencer Laura Loomer called for Trump to fire Bondi over the issue, labelling her “an embarrassment.” Steve Bannon, who was a former White House aide, said that Republicans might lose up to 40 seats in the House of Representatives during the 2026 midterm elections because of how Trump dealt with the documents.
