The hit Pakistani drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, starring Hania Aamir and Fahad Mustafa, created a lot of buzz for its storyline and strong cast. But recently, Naeema Butt who played the role of Rubab in the show, shared about her experience on set. She claimed that the cast often faked connections for social media, while the reality was quite opposed. The actress also noted how she was not even allowed to appear on stage at events by her co-stars.
In an interview with Gup Shab hosted by Vasay Chaudhry, Naeema Butt stated, “Mujhe lagaa mujhe itni support mil rahi hai Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum Mein. Toh mujhe lagaa my colleagues are appreciating my work and it’s amazing because I have not done many dramas.Mujhe lagta raha, aur maine khud hi khayali soch liya, ki ‘Yeah, yeh mere bohot ache dost hain.’ Par aisa kuch tha hi nahi. Real mein jab mile toh haan, but jab camera on hota tha tab lagta tha ‘Wow, it’s amazing.’ Par jaise hi camera off hota, aisa lagta ki aapko stage par bhi aane de rahe, aur aapke saath aisa behave karte (I thought I was getting so much support on Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum. I thought my colleagues were appreciating me and I started assuming that they were my good friends. But it was nothing like that off the camera).”
Although Naeema did not want to get into details, she added that it was a learning experience for her. Naeema added its not like if they post about someone on social media, they are actually friends. She added, “Basically, they want their appreciation from the audience. Unko dikhana hota hai ki, ‘Bhai, hum kisi se insecure nahi hain. We’re fine, we’re very happy, and we want to support new talent.’ But honestly, everyone is just playing their own game.”
Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum follows Sharjeena, a top student and practical young woman, who marries Mustafa, a fun-loving, laid-back man. The drama’s chemistry between the lead actors and supporting ensemble, combined with its relatable storyline, helped it gain a large fan base.
