In her recent video, Kareena Kapoor’s nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar, has revealed two power foods to beat sleepiness in the afternoon.

Rujuta Diwekar claims that including ghee in your diet can help with the afternoon slump issue.

Lunch break is an essential part of everyone’s day. However, for some individuals, it marks a decrease in their productivity. People become less active when they hit the desk to start work after lunch. They have a healthy and hearty meal and then start feeling irritable or sleepy. These are all signs of an afternoon slump. If you have faced this problem as well, there’s an easy solution. Only a few changes in your diet can leave you alert and active in the afternoon.

Kareena Kapoor’s nutritionist, Rujuta Diwekar, has revealed two foods that can help you combat an afternoon slump. In a YouTube video, she addressed the audience and provided advice on how to overcome this issue. Rujuta stated that an afternoon slump refers to feeling sleepy right after lunch. “If you don’t drink tea or coffee or smoke a cigarette, you feel like you will end up in a coma,” Rujuta said, explaining the misconception.

According to Rujuta Diwekar, you should include these two items in your lunch if you don’t want to feel grumpy, drowsy, or exhausted afterwards:

Ghee

Rujuta claims that including ghee in your diet can help with the afternoon slump issue. “Ghee is excellent for your health and for people who are deficient in vitamin D and vitamin B12,” she stated.

Additionally, you should include ghee in your lunch if you have a thyroid condition, pigmentation on your skin, diarrhoea, or feel like you have been gaining weight over time. The nutritionist advised incorporating a minimum of one teaspoon of ghee into your lunch.

Chutney

Rujuta recommended chutney as the second item. She emphasised the importance of including the product in lunch. Curry leaves, coconut, dal, flaxseed, or any other chutney can be used. She revealed that there are numerous chutneys that are a part of Indian cuisine. Any of these is healthy for you.

Furthermore, some reports suggest that to combat the afternoon slump, one should avoid highly processed foods, sugary drinks, and excessive amounts of refined carbohydrates. Instead, you should focus on foods rich in protein, fibre, and complex carbohydrates, along with healthy fats.
