The Bangladesh women would be no match for the utterly dominant Indians, who would breeze past the visitors seemingly effortlessly.
Kho Kho World Cup 2025: Indian women’s team
Priyanka Ingle and co. showed no mercy as the Indian women’s team demolished Bangladesh in a swift oust of the visitors to qualify for the semifinal of the Kho Kho World Cup 2025 on Friday in New Delhi.
Coming off an unbeaten and dominant start to their campaign through the knockout stages, the Ingle-led Indian women’s team looked in blistering form, as they took on their biggest challenge yet against Bangladesh.
Having witnessed their male counterparts incur a crushing loss by almost 50 points to Nepal earlier in the evening, the Bangladesh women had everything to play for.
But, it didn’t take too long though for the hosts to impose their might onto the visitors, as India, who won the toss and elected to attack first, got off to a blistering start in Turn 1.
It would take just a little over a minute for the Indians to impose the first all-out on Bangladesh, securing their first points with ease. The bleeding of points would continue to persist, as the hosts would make light work of Bangladesh throughout the Turn, running out almost nine batches of defenders and ending with a commanding 50-0 lead over the visitors.
Bangladesh were in dire need of attacking power to try to even the odds in the proceeding Turn. Yet, it wasn’t meant to be for the visitors who would be outworked, overpowered, and skilfully decimated by India with precision.
The opening trio of Priyanka, Ashwini, and Reshma would make the visitors run around in loops, burning the clock and securing one Dream Run after the other to pile on the points and misery onto Bangladesh.
Reshma, in particular, would prove to be too much for the visitors to handle, lasting for a walloping five and a half minutes after which the tired opponents would finally run out the initial batch of Indians. By the end of Turn 2, Bangladesh would manage to add only eight measly points onto their board, as the hosts loomed over them in complete control with the scores at 56-8.
Turn 3 aimed to be the kill shot, and it sure ended up being the same as the visitors were seemingly hunted at will.
There was no mercy shown to the Bangladesh women, who yet again crumbled to the wily agility of the Indians. Batch after batch of defenders was hunted all through the Turn, with the hosts registering an utterly dominating scoreline of 106-8 by the end of the penultimate Turn, taking a lead of almost one hundred points.
The final Turn would merely be a formality for the roaring Indians, who would yet again register Dream Runs galore, to end the encounter 109-16 and book their spot in the final four of the tournament.
The Indian women’s team will be facing off against South Africa in the semi-final on Saturday.
