KL Rahul reveals he named his daughter Evaarah after googling its meaning. Rahul and Athiya Shetty shared the first picture of their baby girl on his birthday.

Star Delhi Capitals batter KL Rahul has revealed that he named his daughter ‘Evaarah’ after he spotted the name somewhere and googled its meaning, but he admitted that his wife, actress Athiya Shetty, needed some convincing to agree to the name the newborn Evaarah.
Athiya and Rahul marked a special milestone on the latter’s birthday last month by sharing the first picture of their baby girl.
In March, Athiya took to Instagram and announced the arrival of their daughter with a heartfelt post. Now, Rahul has revealed why he wanted to name the child Evaarah.
“It was a name that I just stumbled upon. We did go through a couple of name books that were sent by some close friends. Then I googled Evaarah and checked what the meaning is,” Rahul said while speaking at an event.
“I loved it from the moment I saw it. It took me a little time to convince Athiya. But her parents and my parents loved it. Then she slowly fell in love with that name,” Rahul said.
Athiya and Rahul tied the knot on January 23, 2023, in an intimate ceremony at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse in Khandala. The Bollywood actor wrote about Evaarah in a LinkedIn post as well.
“Becoming a grandfather recently is a feeling I can’t even describe. It’s a happiness that’s pure and untouched by anything the world can give or take away. I’ve spent decades building and running businesses, making films, and trying to create something meaningful,” Suniel wrote.
Rahul has been Delhi’s leading run-getter this season with 371 runs in nine matches, but he couldn’t accelerate in the home match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scoring 41 off 39 balls, while against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous game he was run out by stalwart Sunil Narine when on just seven runs.
Rahul would back himself to take on the likes of Pat Cummins, Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel, the Hyderabad trio capable of upsetting the calculations of any side when on song.
DC play the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 5 at the latter’s home.
