Kumkum Bhagya, one of the longest-running daily soaps on Indian television, continues to keep audiences hooked to their screens with its unexpected twists, gripping storyline, and stellar performances by the cast. In another captivatingplot twist, the show took a major generational leap, bringing a major shift in its star cast. Produced by Ektaa Kapoor, the rom-com drama now features Pranali Rathod and Akshay Bindra as the protagonists.
Well now, the makers have dropped the promo for Kumkum Bhagya – Ek Naya Adhyay on their official social media platforms. Featuring their lead characters Pranali as Prathna and Akshay as Ronak, Balaji Telefilms announced that the show is set to premiere today, February 19 on ZeeTV. In addition to this, the show will also stream every day at 9 PM on the channel’s OTT platform Zee5.
In the recently released promo, Kumkum Bhagya shows an interesting narrative of two best friends. Akshay Dev Bindra plays the role of a wealthy guy and Pranali Rathod is seen as a simple girl who leads a humble life. The clip shows Ronak and Prarthna visiting a restaurant to celebrate Friendship Day. In the restaurant, the difference in their lifestyles becomes evident as Ronak orders continental cuisine, while Prarthna surprises him by choosing Dal Khichdi.
At the end, the scene shifts to the duo enjoying Dal Khichdi at a street stall, where they enjoy a delightful time together. While both are close friends, the ZeeTV show will depict how their journey takes a turn and romance blooms between them.
Speaking about Kumkum Bhagya, the show premiered in 2014. Since its release, the show has remained a fan favourite for its gripping narrative and unforgettable characters. Originally starring Shabir Ahluwalia and Sriti Jha in lead roles, the Ektaa Kapoor’s produced show introduced several new faces along with multiple generational leaps. After Shabir and Sriti, the rom com drama was taken over by Mugdha Chaphekar and Krishna Kaul. Now, all eyes are on Pranali Rathod and Akshay Bindra as they step in as the new leads of the show. The film also features Gurdip Punjj and a few more actors in pivotal roles.
