Hafiz Saeed Injured: Hafiz Saeed, one of the founders of terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba, was critically injured during a shooting in Pakistan, while he was returning after meeting Pakistan Army’s Corps Commander Mangla on Sunday morning, as per intel sources.
He suffered serious injuries and was later admitted to a military hospital in Rawalpindi, where he was undergoing treatment.
It was believed that he was returning to the Jhelum area after meeting the commander of the Mangla Corps when the incident took place. While the exact meeting location was uncertain, the Mangla Corps is based at the Mangla Cantonment in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’s (PoK) Mirpur district.
Saeed was along with Abu Qatal Sindhi of Lashkar-e-Taiba when the attack took place. While the former has been critically injured, the later was killed in the attack.
Notably Qatal played a key role in multiple attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and was the mastermind behind the January 2023 attack in Rajouri, within the Union Territory. He was also accountable for the 9 June attack on a bus carrying pilgrims returning from the Shiv Khori temple in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district.
Meanwhile, Saeed, who co-founded the Pakistan-based Islamist militant group, is on National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) most wanted list.
