Lauren Sanchez reveals what will happen to her appearance in space ahead of Blue Origins flight

When the wildly glamorous Lauren Sanchez announced she was going to space on April 14, fans wondered how she would keep her makeup looking immaculate.

Lauren was joined by Katy Perry and Gayle King – as well as the rest of their historic all-female Blue Origin space crew – on the April digital cover of ELLE to discuss their groundbreaking travel plans.

The group also includes former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyễn and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

The A-listers discussed getting ‘glam before the flight,’ and Lauren was quick to weigh in with how she plans on staying fully made up while flying.

‘Space is going to finally be glam. Let me tell you something. If I could take glam up with me, I would do that,’ pop star Katy revealed.

After the all-female crew joked about having ‘lash extensions flying in the capsule,’ Oprah’s best friend Gayle asked, ‘Will the lashes stay on? I’m curious.’

Lauren was quick to respond, ‘Mine are glued on. They’re good.’

It’s most likely Lauren, 55, who is preparing to wed billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, 61, this summer in Venice, Italy, has professional lash extensions that can stay put for three weeks at a time.

The extensions are put on in advance by a lash tech, and usually cost anywhere from $180 to $350 to apply, depending on the location and the professional offering their services. The appointments usually take about two hours, and require regular maintenance.

However, there are some risks that come with the extensions, including lash mites.

The philanthropist and former journalist is known for her designer looks, including sexy date night dresses, barely-there yacht looks, and plunging red carpet gowns.

Lauren particularly made waves at Donald Trump’s inauguration, when she showed off her skintight, curve-hugging ensembles.

The Fly Who Flew to Space author is equally infamous for splashing out thousands on her all-designer wardrobe.

The women also talked about how they plan on bringing their personal style on the spacecraft – and why it matters.

Activist Amanda said ‘it’s so important for people to see us like that,’ adding that it’s a ‘dichotomy of engineer and scientist, and then beauty and fashion’ and that she plans on ‘wearing lipstick.’

Prior to meeting in person for the ELLE interview, the women had only spend time together via video calls and phone calls where they discussed their upcoming 11-minute journey.

They’re set to take off on Blue Origin Flight NS-31, which is the first crew made up solely of women since Russian astronaut Valentina Tereshkova’s solo space flight in 1963.

Lauren previously gushed over her future flight on Instagram in footage she shared.

The mom-of-three posed with members of the team working behind-the-scenes to make the trip happen.

The brunette beauty captioned the post: ‘I have watched @BlueOrigin launches from the ground and filmed them from the sky.

‘Still can’t believe I’m actually going to have the opportunity to go up next and fly with the most amazing crew. #takingupspace,’ she added.
