Lawmakers sum up Donald Trump’s first month in office in just one word

Top senators have revealed to DailyMail.com the one word they would use to describe Donald Trump’s first month in office.

Walking around Capitol Hill on a busy day for the Senate, DailyMail.com stopped lawmakers asking them to review the 78-year-old president’s performance during his second term.

Trump has been busy in his first 31 days in office, issuing an avalanche of executive orders and reshaping the size and scope of the government alongside DOGE leader Elon Musk.

The Republican has already played host, inviting leaders from across the globe to Washington.

Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japan’s Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba have all had meetings with Trump at the White House in recent weeks.

So the senators were given an option to deliver their verdict and explain why they chose their particular word.

Freshman Republican from Utah Sen. John Curtis described the president’s first month as ‘Aggressive.’

Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley was next.

He told DailyMail.com that Trump’s first month could be summarized as ‘Bold.’

Sen. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., revealed that he would describe Trump’s first month as ‘Active.’

While riding on the Senate’s underground subway from the Capitol, the North Dakota lawmaker explained to DailyMail.com why he chose his adjective.

‘When you consider juxtaposing (Trump) to the previous president, who basically took a four year nap,’ the Republican president is ‘very active,’ Cramer shared.

North Dakota’s other Republican Sen. John Hoeven described Trump’s first 31 days back in the Oval Office as ‘Action.’

‘Since President Trump has been in office it’s been nonstop action to get America back on track.’

Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, 91, one of the nation’s oldest lawmakers, spoke with DailyMail.com about Trump’s first month back in Washington.

Republican Whip John Barrasso shared that the president’s first month has been ‘Tremendous.’

‘What we’ve seen is President Trump being forceful, effective, energetic, tough. That’s actually what you need in a president, and it’s good to have it all,’ he said.

However, several Democratic senators did not have glowing reviews for the president’s first month.

Democratic Sen. Peter Welch of Vermont called Trump’s first month an ‘illegal rampage.’

When pressed on that being two words and not one, Welch gave a slight smile and continued on walking.

Democrat Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware stuck to the one word rule and delivered the verdict that the president’s first month could only be described as ‘Terrible.’
