Netflix’s Emily In Paris has returned with the highly anticipated second part of its fourth season. The show, a favourite among audiences for its engaging storyline about an American expat embracing her new adventurous life in the fashion capital of Paris, continues to dazzle with its over-the-top outfits. The first half of the new season, which premiered on August 15, immersed fans in Emily Cooper’s (portrayed by Lily Collins) glamourous life, filled with bold fashion choices and romantic escapades in Paris. But part two, released on September 12, shifts the scene to Rome, bringing Italian magic and a vibrant new European backdrop to the show.

Each episode showcases breathtaking outfits that leave viewers spellbound, so it is natural that the series’ lead, Collins, has a favourite look from this season. Curious to know about it? Let’s find out.

Collins, 35, told People about her favourite outfit from the show’s second part of season 4. “I think there’s an outfit in the two episodes at the end, which was a vintage Alaïa skirt and a white collared shirt with flats and a little scarf,” Collins said.

“It felt, to me, like a real departure for Emily, and more Italian, more holiday vacation vibes, and more practical running around with flats. It just felt cinematic,” she added.

The actress also shared with the magazine about the inspiration behind her outfits this season. When the trailer of the part two dropped, fans couldn’t help but spot similarities between Emily and the iconic Audrey Hepburn’s classic looks from her film Roman Holiday.

Collins pointed out that part two features nods to Hepburn’s films, including a Charade-inspired look set atop a mountain and references from Roman Holiday. One of the scenes has Collins sporting oversized sunglasses, a chic fur coat and a matching hat, perfectly channelling Hepburn’s elegant style from the 1963 rom-com mystery.

She also wore a classic skirt and scarf outfit, which is reminiscent of Hepburn’s timeless wardrobe in Roman Holiday. Collins also mentioned that while the costume designer Marylin Fitoussi draws inspiration from these iconic looks, she always gives them a unique “Emily twist.”

“And [costume designer Marylin Fitoussi] always tries to draw inspiration, but give it an Emily twist. And so I think, for us, that was exactly what we did. We took images that were so iconic. So it’s important to always have that touch,” she told the magazine.

At the premiere of Emily In Paris season 4 part 2 on September 10, Collins stunned in a shimmering gold gown which she described as her “kind of bold Roman statue moment” to People.

The striking Schiaparelli dress featured a low back, intricate sequin detailing and bronze medal embellishments that perfectly complemented her layered bracelets. She opted for brown peep-toe heels with bright red nail polish.

She looks polished and elegant with a sleek bob parted in the middle, soft makeup and a bold dark pink lip.
