Reid Hoffman, a Kamala Harris supporter, also helped finance a defamation lawsuit against Donald Trump.
Reid Hoffman, the billionaire co-founder of LinkedIn, is reportedly contemplating leaving the United States following Donald Trump’s victory in the recent presidential election. The New York Post reported that Hoffman is evaluating his options amidst political shifts under the incoming Republican leadership.
Hoffman reportedly fears that Donald Trump could target his political opponents for personal retribution using his presidential powers.
There are also concerns that Trump might leverage his position to settle scores and seek retribution against his political enemies.
Hoffman was a prominent supporter of Vice President Kamala Harris during her unsuccessful campaign. As a Democratic Party mega-donor, he contributed significantly, reportedly providing up to $10 million to her campaign efforts.
Hoffman once said he wished Donald Trump had become a “real martyr” during a failed assassination attempt.
His biggest concern, however, comes from his role in financing a defamation lawsuit against Trump. This lawsuit was filed by E. Jean Carroll, a former writer for New York magazine, adding to Hoffman’s fears that Trump might target him for retribution.
