Liverpool have rejected an approach for Luis Diaz from Bundesliga titans Bayern Munich, and have no intention to sell him.
Colombian forward Diaz has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Anfield, to both Saudi Arabia and Catalan side Barcelona, despite underlining that he is ‘very, very happy at Liverpool’.
Similarly, Liverpool have made it very clear that their versatile star is not for sale when Barca came calling, and have now done the same for Bayern.
The German champions’ chief Max Eberl is reported to have made contact with the Reds, only to be told that the 28-year-old would not be leaving Anfield.
The versatile Diaz made 50 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists, at a contribution rate of one goal or assist every two games.
Reports earlier this week had suggested that the left winger had been added to Bayern’s shortlist of reinforcements in that position following the departure of Leroy Sane on a free.

Also on that list were thought to have been Paris Saint-Germain star Bradley Barcola and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, also of interest to Arsenal.
However, in a blow to the Bundesliga titans, when addressing his future while on international duty, Diaz said: ‘I’m very, very happy in Liverpool. From day one, they’ve made me feel really welcome.
‘Right now we’re in contact with them because we’re speaking with [other] clubs. It’s normal, the market is open, and we’re trying to sort out what’s best for us.
‘I am just waiting to see what happens. If Liverpool doesn’t make a good offer, I still have two years left with them, I would be happy and content to stay there. And that’s it, everything depends on them obviously, it’s up to me to decide what’s best for us.’
Under contract until 2027, Diaz has not been formally offered an extension, and he could slip behind Florian Wirtz in the pecking order next season following his £116million arrival from Bayer Leverkusen.
Previous reports indicated that Barcelona saw an approach rebuffed this month, while Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr have also been credited with an interest.
Diaz is said to have been open to joining the LaLiga club, believing this is the right time for a new chapter after three-and-a-half successful campaigns on Merseyside.
Spanish newspaper SPORT said Diaz’s asking price sits at around £51m – a valuation that Barcelona are unlikely to reach despite him being a top target.
