Lucknow Super Giants vs Punjab Kings IPL 2025:
Punjab Kings made it two wins in as many games as they beat Lucknow Super Giants by 8 wickets in Match 13 of the Indian Premier League 2025 held at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday.
Shreyas Iyer scored the winning runs for PBKS by smashing a six over mid-wicket to also bring up his second fifty of the season. His knock alongside Prabhsimran Singh’s fifty and Nehal Wadhera’s quick cameo ensured they finished the chase with 22 balls to spare.
After scoring 97 in the previous game, he looked to maintain his form as he got set initially, while Prabsimran Singh did the heavy lifting through the powerplay. Digvesh Rathi was LSG’s lone wicket-taker who got rid of both of Punjab’s opening batters.
Arshdeep Singh showcased his class as he struck early on and in the death overs to pick up three wickets to be the pick of the bowlers for Punjab Kings. He took advantage of the new ball by getting rid of Mitchell Marsh. In the final over, he got the wickets of Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad, both of whom looked to pick up the pace after getting set in the middle.
Nicholas Pooran finished as LSG’s top scorer in the first innings after playing a measured 44-run knock. Unfortunately for the hosts, he was unable to see the innings through to the end as the experienced Yuzvendra Chahal got him to mistime his shot to find the fielder at the long-off region.
PBKS will be back in action for their first home game of the season, where they take on the Rajasthan Royals at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Cricket Stadium on April 5 (Saturday). Meanwhile, LSG will remain at home where they take on Mumbai Indians on April 4 (Friday).
