Famous chef Kunal Kapur has shared a special method for making this sauce on his Instagram account @chefkunal, which pairs perfectly with your favourite snacks. This mustard sauce is spicy, sour, and slightly sweet, elevating the flavour of your food.

Here’s how you can make restaurant-style mustard sauce at home, as per Chef Kunal Kapur’s recipe:

Ingredients

  1. 3/4 cup yellow mustard
  2. 1/4 cup black mustard
  3. 1 cup water
  4. 1 cup vinegar
  5. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  6. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  7. 2 tbsp sugar
  8. 1 tsp salt

Recipe

  • First, place 3/4 cup yellow mustard in a bowl and add 1/4 cup black mustard. Add 1 cup water, cover it, and leave it overnight to allow the mustard to swell.
  • The next day, strain the water and set it aside. Add 1 cup vinegar to the swollen mustard.
  • Then, add 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 2 tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp salt.
  • Mix everything thoroughly and leave it for 2 hours to let the spices blend.
  • Pour the mixture into a blender and grind it. You can grind it to your preferred consistency, either smooth or coarse.

Your delicious mustard sauce is ready! You can store it in the fridge for up to 15 days.
